Description
Mingus Mill
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The historic Mingus Mill still operates in its original location, educating visitors to the Oconaluftee region of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Built in 1886 and rehabilitated in 1968 by the National Park Service, the mill utilizes a cast iron turbine rather than a water wheel to operate machinery.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
