Description
The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest has served parishioners and residents of Abilene, Texas, since 1883. The mid-twentieth century church structure was designed by renowned church architect Philip Hubert Frohman--best known for his design of the National Cathedral in Washington, D. C. Beautiful stained glass baths the stone walls and columns in rainbow hues. The sanctuary evokes a strong sense of reverence and the presence of God amidst a congregation long committed to Christian service in the Abilene community.
