Description
Junction School served as one of 31 one-room schools in Gillespie County, Texas, educating children in the rural portions of the county. Junction School's most famous student was United States President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Junction School sits adjacent to the Johnson family ranch, outside Johnson City, Texas. The school first stated under a tent in 1882. The current structure was built in 1910 and served as the primary point of education for local students until 1947. Today, Junction School is preserved as part of the Lyndon B Johnson National Historical Park.
