Description
Oxford University's Convocation House is part of the 'newer' westward expansion (1634-1637) of the Bodleian Library complex at the center of famed British academic institution. Adjacent to the Divinity School, Chancellor's Court and Sheldonian Theatre, the rich wood accents and ornate stone fan vaulted ceiling created an aura of tradition within this historic architectural space. At Oxford the Convocation originally served as the primary governing body of the University. Its composition at first consisting of all doctors and masters of the University. Today, Oxford's Convocation includes all graduates of the University. Its only remaining responsibilities consist of electing the University Chancellor and Professor of Poetry.
