Description
This large, bull African elephant emerged from the South African bush to challenge oncoming safari vehicles. Our driver gave way to this magnificent animal, reversing the jeep for over a half mile, until blocked by a gaggle of tourist vehicles unsure how to respond to an elephant ambling down the road. With nowhere to go we sat face-to-face with Mr. Elephant. We sat staring at each other for a moment, then, after our long period of giving way, this male--in musth--charged our safari vehicle, giving chase for a few hundred meters. This majestic fellow is a resident of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa.
