Description
The historic Frost Building was completed in 1913 to house the growing Baptist Sunday School Board (BSSB) of the Southern Baptist Convention. The building was named to honor the board's founder, Baptist preacher James Marion Frost. Tasked at its 1891 founding with the publication of Sunday School literature, the assigned ministries of the BSSB grew to include books, conferences & conference centers, youth and children camps, and retail stores. Renamed in the late-20th century, Lifeway Christian Resources remains an influential denominational agency within the Southern Baptist Convention.
The gray granite, neoclassical, four-story building in downtown Nashville was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in November of 1980.
