Description
The Washington State Capitol and capitol campus reflect the natural beauty of the state. Located in Olympia, Washington, the capitol campus is easy to reach from Interstate 5.
The Insurance Building, the second structure constructed on the new campus, houses the offices of the State Insurance Commissioner. (The Temple of Justice was the first structure built on the new capitol complex.) Deigned by New York architect's Walter Wilder and Harry White, the cornerstone was set in place in 1920. The structure is composed of local sandstone--Wilkeson stone--quarried in Pierce County, Washington. The 1949 Olympia earthquake heavily damaged the structure.
This is image is the perfect wall art for those connected with Washington public service or those who simply love the state.
