Artist's Description

Opened in 1925, the Fair Theatre brought silent movies to downtown Plainview, Texas. Over the years the Fair transitioned to 'talkies' and vaudeville shows, before declining in use in the later 20th century. Plainview reclaimed the 1994 and after an extensive renovation reopened 1920 Prairie-style theater in 1999. The interior seats approximately 500 and features a rare twin-split balcony. Plays, musicals, movies, conferences, and the Plainview Symphony breath life into the historic landmark in downtown Plainview.

About Stephen Stookey

Stephen Stookey

Stephen Stookey, Ph.D., is a university dean/church history professor/ordained minister by day and photographer by night. Well, not just nighttime; you get the picture. His images appear in publications and Hollywood productions and hang on the walls of businesses, homes, and high-end hotels. Stephen operates Stephen Stookey Photography, an online print on demand business. Thank you for taking time to view my portfolio.
