Echoes of Al Michaels' famous call, "Do you believe in miracles? ... Yes!," still ring inside the Lake Placid Arena. The venue is most closely connected to the underdog heroics of the 1980 U.S. Men's National Hockey team, and their improbable run to the gold medal. Their defeat of the formidable Soviet Union team in the semi-finals shocked the sports world and is hailed as one of the greatest upsets in the history of sports. Popular the semi-final win is known as the "Miracle on Ice." With a nation enthralled Team USA took down Finland in the gold medal game, capping an unlikely run into Olympic glory.
This B&W image is the perfect addition to a wall in your home, office or hockey den. The sparsely lit arena evokes a sense of memories and possibilities.
