Description
Quieter now then in decades past, Yellowstone National Park's Roaring Mountain earned its moniker from the numerous fumaroles that were once so noisy that the mountain roar could be heard from several miles away. Roaring Mountain (8,152 ft) sites between Norris Geyser Basin and Obsidian Cliff. Roaring Mountain is one of my favorite sites, overlooked by many in the rush to get to Norris or down to the Old Faithful area. The landscape holds a stark beauty as nature resets the mountainside. Black and white photography draws out the stark beauty of the mountainside.
Yellowstone National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
