Description
I feel in love with Grand Teton National Park when my family visited in 1969. We drove the roads, viewed the mountains and wildlife, stayed in a cabin at Jackson Lake Lodge, ate breakfast in the Lodge's mural room (most memorable breakfast ever!), and drove on to Yellowstone. So began a life-long love of this park. I spent 3 hours yesterday morning (6/4/2022) photographing a few of my favorite views in GTNP. While the sunrise failed to produce hoped for brilliance, the morning light was wonderful. Mormon Row Historic District offers a glimpse into ranch life in Jackson Hole from the 1890s to 1950s. This panoramic image of the iconic T. A. Moulton barn is the product of 9 images stitched together. T. A. Moulton's rustic barn provides a popular foreground element for artists and photographers seeking to capture the majesty of Grand Teton and its surrounding peaks.
Thomas Alma Moulton and family established a homestead on Antelope Flats, tending the land and building structures from 1912 to 1945. The classic peaked-roof barn mirrors the cathedral-like spires of the Teton Range. The mood of the barn changes day-by-day, hour-by-hour as weather conditions change. Each change in the scene creates a new visual narrative.
