Description
Looking through the windows and doorways amidst the ruins at Chaco Culture National Historical Park invite visitors to imagine and experience life in the ancient pueblo culture. This keyhole opens in an upper level of Pueblo del Arroyo. The park preserves multiple Native American sites of historic importance. Chaco Canyon was the cultural center of Ancient Puebloan culture from AD 850 to 1150. Buildings at Chaco were well planned, aligned with solar and lunar cycles. The area today is cared for by the National Park Service, with advisement from tribal leaders. Chaco is an inscribed UNESCO World Heritage Site.
