Description
Olympic National Park's Tree of Life clings to a sandy coastal bluff near Kalaloch Campground and Kalaloch Lodge. The tenacious cypress, estimated to be 1,000 years old, clings to the coast with its roots exposed to the elements. A cove area runs directly under the cypress leading to its alternative moniker, "Tree Root Cave." Some refer to the Cyprus as the "Runaway Tree" due to motion-like sprawl of the exposed roots.
My wife and I hiked to the Tree of Life during our stay at Kalaoch Lodge. Late in the day, with Pacific surf pounding the coast, sun and clouds at play in the sky, the tree appeared like a scene from a fairy tale. I'm inspired by the tree's tenacity and survival in the face of countless storms.
Bring the inspiration of nature to your walls. This image looks fabulous on metal and acrylic. I recommend luster or glossy paper for traditional framed and matted prints. You may select mats and frames to compliment the image and your personal decor needs. Canvas prints also offer a fabulous wall option--I recommend a simple black floater frame.
Olympic National Park, a gem of the National Park Service, is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site.
