Description
Car-by-car travelers pull over along old Route 66 (now Interstate 40), just west of Amarillo, TX, to paint and snap a selfie at one of America's most iconic roadside attractions. Cadillac Ranch beckons travelers far and wide to walk the dusty (or soggy) plains of the Texas Panhandle and graffiti vintage Cadillacs buried nose down. The homage to the storied Cadillac tail fin was the brain child of eccentric Texas billionaire Stanley Marsh 3. Marsh enlisted a couple of entrapping public artists to bury nose-first ten caddies (1949-1963) in the west Texas dirt alongside famed Route Route 66. Route 66 has since been replaced in the Texas panhandle by Interstate 40, but the Cadillacs remain.
