Description
On the crest of Little Round Top, Gettysburg National Military Park, Brigadier General Gouverneur K. Warren surveys the misty battlefield. Warren, the Civil Engineer for the Army of the Potomac, is credited with saving Little Round Top for Union forces after noticing the key defensive position sat undefended. Veterans of Warren's first command, the 5th New York Infantry Regiment, placed this bronze statue atop Little Round Top in 1888.
